Description
This is a Zuni Handcrafted Inlay Bolo Tie by noted artist Dale Edaakie. The bolo features the image of a Bear crafted in stunning detail. The Bear has been created from etched cuts of Abalone Shell and Polished Jet. All work is crafted in Sterling Silver. The reverse of the Bolo Tie is signed Dale Edaakie. The tips are also sterling silver and feature the etched image of the Bear in Sterling Silver. The tips are soldered together and can be removed from the leather if standard tips are desired. The reverse of the Bear Tip is also signed by Dale Edaakie.
The inlay artwork measures approximately 2 1/4 inches tall by 2 7/8 inches wide and tallest and widest points. The Tip art measures 2 1/8 inches tall. The leather on this piece measures 34 inches in total length not including the silver tip art work. The tip as stated can be removed for standard tips to add to the overall length of this piece.
Like his parents, Dennis and Nancy Edaakie, Dale Edaakie is a master of the art of inlay. He has distinguished himself from his well known parents by choosing to work on representations of animals as opposed to the birds for which his parents have become famous. His work is exceptional in achieving naturalistic detail by the etching of the shell or stone inlay.
