Description

  • This is a Navajo handcrafted money clip. The money clip features hand stamped work in Sterling Silver showing the Kokopelli. The main construction of the Money Clip is Nickel for strength. The reverse of the money clip is signed by the Navajo artist B and is stamped Sterling representing the artwork of the front of the money clip.

  • The Money Clip measures 1 3/4 inch long by 1 inch wide. Total weight is 17.4 grams.

  • The Anasazi or "Ancient Ones" were primarily farmers, growing corn, beans, and squash in the Four Corners area on the Colorado Plateau. Both the Basketmaker Period (dating at least from about 200 B.C.) and the Pueblo Period (dating from about 700 A.D.) include the humpbacked flute player among their deities or supernaturals. Kokopelli was welcome during corn-planting season. No matter what form or how complete our understanding of his history, Kokopelli still briings wonder to our lives. The thin sound of his flute that once echoed off canyon walls must still be reverberating around the Southwest and through the ages.
